چکیده

Benznidazole (Bdz) are the drug of choice to treat Chagas Disease. However, causes several side effects, and Trypanosoma cruzi, etiological agent disease, can be less susceptible action drugs in chronic phase, due its reduced metabolism dormancy tissues. Thus, using compounds that lethal amastigote forms, which prevalent disease is essential for success therapy. We propose evaluate, though a systematic review, efficacy thiazolidine imidazolidine derivatives against T. cruzi intracellular amastigotes, compare results with those Bdz, A search was made on eight English Language Systematic Databases - Science Direct, Scopus, Pubmed, Google Scholar, LILACS, Scielo, Trip Database Cochrane, collect studies, without time scale. IC50 values, cytotoxic effects (CC50), selective index (SI), mechanism each compound length treatment included this review evaluate effectiveness compound. The 2-Iminothiazolidin-4-one 18 more effective than as it affected amastigotes by making structural modification parasite, inhibiting cruzain, being promising antichagasic

Infectivity of amastigotes of Trypanosoma cruzi.

The infectivity amastigotes of Trypanosoma cruzi, isolated from the supernatant of the J774G8 macrophage-like cell line infected with trypomastigotes to normal macrophages in vitro was tested. After a period of 1 h of T. cruzi-macro¬ phage interaction about 2% of the mouse peritoneal macrophages had ingested amastigotes. In contrast 12% of the macrophages had ingested epimastigotes. Treatment o...

Modulation of host central carbon metabolism and in situ glucose uptake by intracellular Trypanosoma cruzi amastigotes

Obligate intracellular pathogens satisfy their nutrient requirements by coupling to host metabolic processes, often modulating these pathways to facilitate access to key metabolites. Such metabolic dependencies represent potential targets for pathogen control, but remain largely uncharacterized for the intracellular protozoan parasite and causative agent of Chagas disease, Trypanosoma cruzi. Pe...

Glycosylphosphatidylinositols are required for the development of Trypanosoma cruzi amastigotes.

Induction of a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) deficiency in Trypanosoma cruzi by the heterologous expression of Trypanosoma brucei GPI-phospholipase C (GPI-PLC) results in decreased expression of major surface proteins (N. Garg, R. L. Tarleton, and K. Mensa-Wilmot, J. Biol. Chem. 272:12482-12491, 1997). To further explore the consequences of a GPI deficiency on replication and differentiati...

Production of amastigotes from metacyclic trypomastigotes of Trypanosoma cruzi.

Attempts to recreate all the developmental stages of Trypanosoma cruzi in vitro have thus far been met with partial success. It is possible, for instance, to produce trypomastigotes in tissue culture and to obtain metacyclic trypomastigotes in axenic conditions. Even though T. cruzi amastigotes are known to differentiate from trypomastigotes and metacyclic trypomastigotes, it has only been poss...

Analysis of expressed sequence tags from Trypanosoma cruzi amastigotes.

A total of 880 expressed sequence tags (EST) originated from clones randomly selected from a Trypanosoma cruzi amastigote cDNA library have been analyzed. Of these, 40% (355 ESTs) have been identified by similarity to sequences in public databases and classified according to functional categorization of their putative products. About 11% of the mRNAs expressed in amastigotes are related to the ...
